What is Key Club?

Key club is the oldest international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities.Key club teaches and spreads our core values through  acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.Through this club you can connect with thousands of key club members, not only in Patrick Henry but also  all throughout our California-Hawaii-Nevada district and even around the world!

Where and when are the meetings held?

Meetings are held every Thursday during lunch in bungalow B-13

How do I join Key Club?

You may join Key Club as an Official Member by turning in your Member Application, as well as your dues ($13.00) to the Secretary/Treasurer during the weekly meeting. Your Key Club Membership is valid for 1 term (year). Because Key Club is year-round, you may join at any time.There will be more info about the process once school starts. Learn more..

How do I volunteer at an event?

In order to attend events, you must first learn about them! All club event are presented during the weekly club meetings. If you cannot attend the meeting, you will be able to learn more here, on the Events page.  On the Events page, there will be a link for you to sign up if you are interested. Once you have sign up for the event, you are set!

Is Key Club an asian cult?

No, Key club is NOT an asian cult. Our club does not exclude anyone out and welcomes everyone. 

Clubs? Divisions? Regions? Districts? 

Clubs from multiple high schools are grouped together to form a division. Divisions are then grouped together to form a Region. And finally, regions form a district.

What division are we? Our mascot? Our color? Region? District? 

PHHS Key Club, is part of Division 21 (D21), located in Region 2, which is located inside the CNH (California-Nevada-Hawaii) district. Division 21's mascot is the hippo, and our color is turquoise and yellow . The CNH district's mascot is the bee, and our color is black and yellow.

What is a LTG? What is a DLT?

LTG stands for Lieutenant Governor. The Lieutenant Governor is responsible for supporting and growing the clubs within his or her division and serving as a liaison between the district and the club.

DLT stands for Divisional Leadership Team. The Divisional Leadership Team is expected to work with the LTG to improve the division, just like a club’s DLT except on a divisional level.

What is a divisional council meeting (DCM)?

The Lieutenant governor leads a divisional council meeting almost every month. The purpose of a dcm is to update, reward others, and bond. Learn more...

What is PTP?

PTP stands for Pediatric Trauma Program and the purpose of this program is to develop local service projects to educate people of children’s safety and to decrease the number of children who are severely injured or killed due to traumatic unintentional injuries.

What is Kiwanis?

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged and care for the sick, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research and more. Working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. In other words, Kiwanis is the older versionof Key Club!

Rtc or Regional Training Conference is a time where all the Divisions in your region, in our case Region 2, get together to learn more about Key club, make friends and much more. Learn more...

What is FRS?

Due to the District's massive size, two Fall Rallies are held each year; one in Northern California at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, one in Southern California at Six Flags Magic Mountain. We Division 21 attend Fall Rally South at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Thousands of Key Club members gather together at the theme park and enjoy the day full of spirit and fun! Learn more...

What is Dcon?

At district conventions, which happen each spring, Key Club members elect new student leaders, learn new service projects, meet other Key Club members and attend interesting workshops. Each district convention is held annually and usually lasts two days. Learn more...

 The Key Club International convention occurs annually in July. The purpose of the convention is to elect the international officers, review accomplishments of the past year and set policies for the coming year.
