District Convention, or DCON, is an annual Key Club event hosted by the district, in our case CNH. District Convention takes place at different locations every year.
Every DCON is a little different, but all of them offer fun, fellowship and celebration.
We attend DCON every year to celebrate our efforts as leaders in our communities as well as to give recognition to especially outstanding divisions, clubs, and officers.
It is an eye-opening experience, you also get to meet high school students and club advisors from other schools in your district, who enjoy community service—and everything else Key Club represents. Don’t pass up the chance to learn more about and get involved with Key Club on the district level.
DCONs offers a wide variety of workshops for members to build leadership skills and improve their clubs. And advisors can connect and learn best practices. From new fundraising ideas to scholarship application tips to public speaking, there’s something for everyone.And because Key Club is a student led organization, all workshops will be hosted by your peers (people in high school). This gives you the chance to better connect with your workshop hosts and ask any question you may not feel comfortable asking an adult. Come learn from other clubs—and share your ideas with them.
At DCON, members experience the magic of Key Club and come back feeling energized, motivated and inspired to take your Key Club to the next level. Enjoy an experience you’ll never forget.The enthusiasm is contagious!
One of the most well known aspects of Key Club, most notably in the CNH and PNW district, is the spirit that every Key Clubber brings to events. DCON nonetheless is another chance for you to break out those tutus, face paints, beads, and "Free Hugs" signs. DCON gives you the chance to meet Key Clubbers from other parts of CNH, exposing you to a wider variety of mascots. Be it from a large division with more than 100 attendees, or a small division with a humble 2 attendees, one thing is certain: we all got spirit
